Thinking about Sonic Movie 3 and what'll happen to Shadow once it's all over, and I absolutely fell in love with the idea of him just... showing up at the Wachowski household. Not as a permanent resident (bc he's a misanthrope and I don't think he'd let himself get adopted, and also having 3 other brothers would be hell) but more like a proud stray cat who occasionally drops by ~~on his terms, of course~~. Maybe he takes to hanging out with Maddie more when he catches her alone because she doesn't have that exhausting energy the rest of the family has, and they do casual stuff together like gardening.

One time, Maddie forgets her lunch at home so Sonic runs it over to her and is surprised to find Shadow volunteering in the cat section of the clinic (Shadow's actually been coming over on and off for the past 3 months, he just took to avoiding him as much as possible).
